Bio
I'm a Certified Holistic Health Counselor trained at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and a Raw Food Chef and Nutrition Educator from the Living Light Culinary Institute. Before I became passionate about holistic health I was a commercial actress and model as well as a singer/songwriter/rocker. I played and toured with my all girl band the Halo Friendlies for seven years and spent several years as a working model/actress. If you're a video game enthusiast you might know me as Judy Nails from the Guitar Hero video game series. I'm still a rocker at heart and have slowly been working on new material for my band the Scouts of Saint Sebastian.
Today I give lectures, teach classes and counsel clients around the country to help them become slimmer, more energetic, radiant and vibrant. I love helping people reach their health goals in a way that is doable and delicious.
My book “Going Raw: Everything You Need To Start Your Own Raw Food Diet & Lifestyle Revolution At Home” is a great guide to get you started in raw foods.

It contains 100 recipes in full color with easy, step by step instructions. I even included a DVD to show you some basic raw food skills to get you up and running in no time. It's available through Amazon and at most major bookstores throughout the US, Canada and UK.
I'm currently writing my second book as well as developing a raw food TV show.
Why Raw?
Raw foods are foods that have been unheated, unprocessed and unrefined thereby preserving their nutritional content and allowing our bodies to be fully nourished. Cooking food destroys about 70-90% of the nutrients. The standard American diet is so high in cooked and processed foods that it is no wonder we suffer so many degenerative diseases. Arthritis, heart disease, osteoporosis, depression and type 2 diabetes are all caused by poor nutrition and can often be reversed by adopting a raw food diet.
Though I go by Raw Judita, what I really mean is Healthy Judita, but that wasn't always the case. I learned the hard way that what we eat affects our body, mind and spirit. I suffered from depression, bad moods, bad skin and arthritis just to name a few. I found that eating whole foods in their natural state allowed my body to detoxify and heal. I have clarity and creativity like I've never had before.
The major raw food groups include fruits, vegetables, leafy greens, nuts, seeds, sea vegetables and sprouted grains. Some raw foodists eat raw dairy, eggs, sushi and raw meat. I find the energy I get from a fresh, raw, plant-based diet is so intoxicating, I literally dance when I eat. Try it for 30 days and you'll be a believer as well.
